Got up at dark thirty to go do a quick grocery shopping run. I hate going to WalMart and this will be my second time this month I've gone there. I hate it I hate it I hate it. It was also why we went early.
Not early enough evidently. I think they might have been doing the toys for tots cash outs this morning, I'm not sure, but there were people EVERYWHERE. At WalMart, before 8 in the morning. Everywhere, women with little kids and loaded carts. Blocking the aisles and cutting us off (it really hurts me to try to avoid a collision, but the collision would be worse) and giving us the dead eye or a shy smile down at the ground when I would say "Excuse me..."
I was at first just annoyed, but you know, there is bound to be crowds, it's not the end of the world.
Then I started looking at these women lining up and that's when I started getting really pissed.
It made me really angry. You know why? Because only one out of every 20 women I saw there spoke English and/or was not hispanic. I got angry and guilty and then angrier. I got so angry because I felt racist but you know what, it's not a "brown" thing or a "white" thing. It's a patriotic thing. I really am not so naive as to think ALL these women are legal citizens. Wahat-EVER. I know the majority of them aren't. How do I know? Well, somethings never change and some people never get off their asses and sadly, I have a knack for remembering faces and details. And no, they don't all look alike to me. Uhuh. I said it. I saw a lot of familiar faces this morning. And I got pissed. The lifetime average for a welfare grant in this state is 60 months. That is 5 years. Five years and you are "done". No more cash aid, you are cut off. You are if you are a citizen anyway.
So, what the hell is going on here? I was still working part-time 7 years ago, I recognize many of these women...these women have at least doubled but in most cases tripled and quadrupled their household. Yes, two, three on up to 5 more kids in the last 7 years. WTF. Who paid for that? You know who did.You did. I did. We did. We still are.
Somebody said to me: "well they aren't legal citizens, but their kids are..." well, paint me green and call me Grinch, call me SCROOGE--- I don't CARE if they are the parents of citizens! Tough luck for the kids then because it's bullshit, my kids are citizens and they don't get preferential treatment of having their illegal citizen mother be supported by the state and federal government to take care of them, the citizen children. NO.
In fact, according to the government, after I became ill and disabled. MY kids were supposed to be my physical caretakers until they turn 18 and/or move out of the home. I was authorized 30 hours a week for a caretaker to come in and help me with daily chores such as bathing, dressing, physical therapy, doctor's appts. etc. but only AFTER my children turn 18 and move out of the house will my medical pay for it.
Fuck school, take care of your sick mother kids, she paid into the system for years so other young citizens with illegal citizen mothers can get benefits while your mother is denied in weekly in home help until you turn 18 and move out and are released from the state's imposed servitude.Yah, I don't think so :(
Here's the deal: if you are here illegally, I don't think you deserve shit. In fact, I think you deserve to get your ass drop-kicked back across whatever border you came across. You are here ILLEGALLY. You have already broken the law, please don't speak to me of rights, you have no rights, you have already broken the law and you are not a citizen of this country. You are here ILLEGALLY therefore I would consider you a terrorist threat since you have already broken the law to come in to this country. I do not think you should be rewarded by having the government subsidize the raising of your children. What about all these young citizens who need their illegal mothers to raise them? Well, sad for them but they can either a) go home with their mothers, who can then apply for expedited citizenship on the grounds that their children are legal citizens or b) go to an orphanage until such time that their mothers can apply for expedited citizenship on the grounds that their children are legal citizens. If harsher (or any) penalties were imposed on illegal citizens for being here, if aid was not so freely given, if the purse strings were tightened and the governmental funding wallet slammed shut the flow of illegals making their way to the land to "free money" would drop dramatically. Seems like a no-brainer but it's not. And it just kills me that legal citizens, specifically children get screwed over by this stuff. All of them, white, brown, blue, red, green, whatever.
