First place I went for Surfing Sunday was here: Greenhouse-From-Old-Windows at instructables.com where there was an article about, you guessed it, lol, making a greenhouse from old windows. Nice. :)
Since the weather has turned the corner and Spring is definitely on its way I'm just getting antsy for the nice days that are coming :)
I also went back over to apartment therapy and checked this lovely light and the diy version out. Love both.
The inspiration light:
Since I love light, lamps, fixtures etc so much, I kept this in mind and I've got some future plans for something similar to this when I the studio is cleared out a bit more. Love how pretty this is even without the light on.
There is a similar one here at Mint Love Social Club as well:
This one is made from bubble balls from CB2 and is really interesting in the possibilities for variations that it presents. The link to Mint Love Social Club above will take you right to the DIY directions and materials list.
Really wanting to clear some room in the studio for this project, I think I'll have too much fun with all the different variations making these lights (more than one, lol).
ok...moving on...lol
I stumbled across this site and wanted to go back and explore it in further depth and after I did that, well, there is a lot on this site that is read worthy, but the main article that got me was this: How Electricity, Water And Food Could Be Produced In Desert Areas With Minimal Ecological Footprint and how cool an idea is this?? WAY COOL!
Over at Craft Nest blog I finally found the directions for the hemp pendant lamps I've been searching for ever since I came across the image on the web (maybe on pinterest) but it had no directions or information attached to it. So yay! Finally found the information I needed. More light projects I know, I know, lol. We really love our light here in the dark months in the PNW :)
I also went back and checked out the pics for the outdoor/camping shower at Wee Life blog. There are no direction specifics but the pictures give you a pretty good idea of how to start at least. It kind of cracked me up the pic of this copper coil, I've got a length of this diameter copper big enough to make this coil, we just stumbled across it when we were cleaning out the property when we first moved here and it was thrown in the scrap pile. I immediately thought of it when I saw this. Of course my son promptly burst my bubble and said: That's an insane amount of working hard instead of smart. So...we'll continue to do our camp showers the old way for now, lol. It's a pretty good and very inexpensive set up and I'll take pics next time we go out camping and set up, but I just love this coil idea and want to incorporate it eventually because this could heat on the fire while I'm doing other stuff and it doesn't take up as much room etc (esp. when we're using the cook stove too) and won't waste propane. Ah well, thought for the future.
I've still got plenty of other places to visit, but the sun is shining too beautifully for me to ignore it anymore and my body has begrudgingly decided to ease up on its lock down and let me move around a little more freely. I'm going outside for now. Too pretty not to. :) Later for now!
