Finding crafting supplies on $cheap$

Random is the word of the day:

Sometimes I love to hit a bunch of garage sales for old craft & art supplies to pick up on the super cheap. Beads never "go bad" like fiber, paint and glue can but you can get some great tools for a steal as well.

Crochet hooks, knitting needles, sewing stuff, rivet/eyelet punches, scissors, scrap booking/papercrafting stuff...the list goes on and on. The key is to keep an open mind and have fun :) I love finding vintage crafting stuff or "future project" items for little or no $.

Last sale we went to I got a 70's swag pendant lamp with a huge rootbeer colored glass shade for a dollar. Nothing wrong with it and with a few modifications it was going to be an awesome outdoor lighting accent (I have a really big yard to deal with) but my son fell in love with it and it's now in "the pit" aka the downstairs rec room.

For fun we looked it up on etsy & the smaller ones were going for average $85, the lowest was 50!

Other places for the specific items I need I go online or locally.
