Question of the Week #36

Last week's question got me to thinking about all of us who have blogs or those who are thinking about it or even those of us have multiple blogs! (Yes, Laurien, thinking about you there---you admitted you've got more than one blog, but I'm sure you aren't the only one, lol).

Confession: I have several blogs at blogger. I have a blog for Nanowrimo, that I only use for Nanowrimo and it sits dormant for most of the year. I have an interwoven trio of blogs about cooking and household recipes and I have my main personal blog. I don't have a "professional" blog that shows off my art or promotes my crafts or... getting kind of lost here as to where the line is drawn and the difference between "personal" and "artisan" is...sigh...

Last week when doing all my research about social media management and brain-tripping...uh thinking, I mean thinking---I came across some articles that said Blogger is considered to be somewhat amateurish and that WordPress is the more "professional" choice.

My thoughts on this:

I've been on blogger/blogspot for years and love how they have developed and become more sophisticated over time. I am very happy with my current "set up" but I also try to keep open to new possibilities and at least keep track of general trends. That said, I really didn't want to consider moving all my content from blogger to another blog platform BUT I would if I felt another blog platform would fit my needs better.

So, I went and researched WordPress and I'll include a couple of links at the bottom for you to look at, some of it was very interesting. I know there are other blog platforms out there as well but don't know much about them and would love to hear from any of you use other blog platforms besides Blogger & WP.

My conclusion: I'm sticking with Blogger for now and I feel it can hold its own against WP, it's just a matter of personal choice as to which one you are comfortable with.

So, the questions this week are: 

Who among us has a blog or blogs? And if you don't have a blog, are you thinking about starting one? 

What blogging platforms do you use & (blogger, wordpress, tumbler, weebly etc) and what is your favorite blogging site?
