Seasons change

and so does my routine...

It seems silly to say I forgot how bad my back and other assorted joints are when dealing with damp and cold, but I did. Now that Summer has started to turn the corner and the mornings are misty and telling me early Fall is here, well, very sad to report I've since remembered....and in a big way lately...OW!

But I do love this time of year, kids are just starting back to school, leaves have started to change color but not falling yet. The mornings start out misty and roll into glorious bright afternoons. I'm a slow starter on some of these chilly mornings but I know that it is usually going to warm up and be awesome later in the day which means I'll probably loosen up and be able to move and do stuff and get things done that have been put off for so long. Nothing is a given any more...that is really the only "given" and I usually take nothing for granted like I used to, Like walking and sitting upright and being able to take a full breathe without a hitch from a spasm of spinal, joint or even tendon pain. Even being able to see is a gift I don't take for granted anymore...but enough thinking about the past, this is the time to move forward and if not move at least look forward :)

The big thing going on around here right now is we've got to get the house and grounds ready for the Winter. That means going through our checklist, checking from the roof (top) to the pipes (bottom) and making sure we're "winterized". It also means pulling the boat out of the water and we don't want to wait too long because if the rains set in, well, the boat is so heavy we're barely able to flip it over in the dry weather so it'll be almost impossible. It means deflating the big swim floats and putting them safely away for next swimming season and pulling the outdoor furniture in closer and getting ready to store cushions. Getting the lid ready for the fire pit and going through the yard and property, picking up everything and getting ready for the rainy (and then cold) weather.

Since we've decided not to do a Fall planting we've eliminated that bunch of chores but we just will skip on to the part where we put the garden to bed for the Winter. I've got to do some prep work on my container garden as well as some of my lovelies will be joining us inside for the winter and I want them to be productive and comfortable :)

I've also got to go through the camp gear and decide what we are keeping and store it away properly so we can get to it easily next Spring and "winterize" our BBQ area as well. We are grilling diehards so even in the cold yuckola of Winter if it's not raining we will grill. We've grilled in the snow (it's cold but really pretty when it's coming down and kind of fun) and it made me even more grateful for our little warm house when we got done (LOL).

That isn't all that has to be done but that's all I have to time to write about as I've got to get going and the sun is breaking out from the gloom...

until later my friends:

:) HAPPY WEDNESDAY Y'ALL! :)
