I do a bit of mix and match, it depends upon time. If really rushed usually I use store bought wrap, bags and ribbon with hand made tags (I made most of those tags late last winter and early spring).
I have a huge cache of items I collect through out the year for hand made gift tags and I've attached all kinds of things to my hand made gift tags like parts of old cards, vintage ornaments, tiny odd trinkets, cookie cutters, hot wheels, candy canes, little pine cones, small sprays of holly (I get that fresh though, lol) shells and even sea glass.
If I have some time I use brown craft paper with natural cotton string (you can pick it up at your local dollar store) and draw snowflake designs with a "white out" correction pen (also at the dollar store) and maybe some iridescent glitter glue over the snowflakes and hand made tags. I will also do the same thing with brown (blank) papers bags as gift bags. It looks really great for a low price. I believe that the package should look nice but not cost a lot.
What do you do when you wrap your gifts? Is it store bought wrappings and trappings all the way or is it purchased paper and ribbon with hand made gift tags? Or completely handmade wrapping and tags?
Looking forward to hearing your answers!
