Question of the Week #119

This week's question has to do with the upcoming holidays in October and early November.

Technically the holiday shopping season is almost one third over (people start Christmas/Seasonal shopping around Sept. 1st.) but we'll save winter holiday questions for later and focus on October and early November now :)

Many people celebrate "Harvest" instead of Halloween or in some households, they celebrate both. We do both because Halloween and Harvest leads effortlessly (for us) into Thanksgiving and a lot of things I make and use for Halloween decorations can be used as is or easily converted to Harvest decorations and then later to Thanksgiving decorations. Also this way Halloween is not overly accented in our house as I hate how commercialized the holiday has become. I love the spooky stuff and to decorate but I hate a lot of the pressure and craziness associated with what used to be a "little" holiday.

I am not making anything for retail sales this year for the Fall holiday season as I usually start working on that in late June/early July and I decided to take a bit of a break this year.

So, this week's questions (yes, there are more than one this week, lol):

Which ones do you celebrate and how: Halloween or Harvest or Both?

Do you make holiday special crafts and hang decorations or if you have an online store or sell at bazaars/craft fairs do you make holiday specific items?

If you do make holiday crafts for personal or retail, what are your favorite projects or items to make?

When do you start thinking about holiday specific items to make for personal and/or retail?

I know this is more than one question but they all go together and you don't have to answer all of them of course but let's get this conversation going :)

OK...Looking forward to hearing your answers!

Please remember to submit your suggestions and questions to: spdychevy@gmail.com with Question in the subject line and we'll get your question up here soon!

Happy Monday to all :)
