The Christmas Eve before Christmas Eve, before the December 24th Christmas Eve...

Tomorrow is the day before Christmas Eve but it is the day we are celebrating our Christmas Eve gathering at Oly this year. The reason being that although Christmas Eve has been "OUR" day for years, it seems Sissy's in-laws want to stop by and drop off gifts this Christmas Eve due to scheduling issues on Christmas Day (THEIR) day. Which is cool, "chill" y'know...except... you know they aren't going to want to come by and drop their gifts off and skip merrily off... why would they? Don't blame them but...it being "our" normal celebration night, it seems like a big uncomfortable situation for all if we go ahead and celebrate like normal. To put it plain, my family doesn't have much use for Sissy's in-laws. I also don't have any respect for them and frankly, this is the one day of the year I want to spend with *just* us and not have to have everyone be on their toes, in case, heaven forbid, any of them are *offended*. The fall out from the scene that would ensue would last for *years*, because I would make sure to make it memorable for all. Actions speak louder than words and they are from the "do as I say, not as I do" church, so that should give you the jist of my opinion of them.

In the past that family has had little respect for Sissy's side of the family and until last November; they had both THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS day, thus our Christmas Eve for Christmas day celebration and our Thanksgiving the day AFTER Thursday. We worked around their schedule and it worked out well. Do they care that they've hi-jacked "our" Christmas? Of course not, they are an entitled bunch. Lucky for us we are flexible, especially when it comes to avoiding spending time with Sissy's inlaws ;)

Been feverishly working on finishing presents and I'm gonna make my deadline. I think. Here is the other one of the mushroom coasters I made for my sister:

And here is the coaster that EVERYONE is getting in their set:

I'm to the point now of just putting the protective coating on them and then wrapping. So close! I'm almost done (yes!) and I'll be taking a major nap when I am :)

OK, enough doing everything but what I need to, I'm in the final stretch! Off I go...
