Because this happened I'm going to do my Surfing Sunday post tonight. I say tonight because I spent the day in Olympia and just got home about an hour and half ago. I've been doing dishes and laundry ever since. LOTS of things get put off when I have company. But that's ok, I'm in way better shape this evening than I was yesterday morning anyway (thankyouGod!).
OK...here goes...
First place I went was my pinterest boards where I have (gasp at the surprise, lol) a Surfing Sunday board :) There I looked up all the links I "pinned" during the week (and the one before that, since I had unexpected company and other extenuating circumstances that Sunday as well...) and sat back and enjoyed myself...
I've been looking at all kinds of "woodsy" projects. Now I don't mean just outdoor projects, I mean projects done with wood in general. This "Doll House Armoire" really caught my eye. It's such a neat idea, the three levels for "play" and the two drawers for storage of accessories when not in use: brilliant. AND...so simple I could do it and the nieces would be ga-ga for it. And when they "outgrew" it then it could be re-vamped again or be passed along to some other kids. I love it.
Next up was this 3 tiered woodland plant stand and magic fairy cabin that I found enchanting until I checked the prices and about fell over. Neat diy projects but ridiculous prices for stuff you can put together from the small blow downs from the big trees in the yard and river rocks and the like, I mean hey, really get into and use the old imagination! (lol). Both of these were at Magiccabin.com.
Too cute not to include. I'm already looking for materials every time I go outside for ANYTHING ;) Gonna be fun!
In keeping with the whimsical outdoor garden theme we seem to be on today, I followed my other pins to "Cozy Little House" and this post about fairy gardens. Love it! I want to see if my youngest will be interested in doing this, they are so cute:
Another article on container gardens at "Midwest Living" caught my eye:
I've still got cabin fever going on although the weather is getting nicer (YAY!) so looking at all these fun outdoor projects helps me plan, plan, plan---which helps control the need to get outside NOW...somewhat anyway.
Next I went and checked out this handy bottle dating tool at the "Historic Glass Bottle Identification & Information Website" to see how it worked. I have a lot of glass: bottles, jars, vases, bowls...you name it. This tool was very handy as I went through the steps with several bottles and successful came up with information and dates on their manufacture etc. I bookmarked this since the potential for using this is high. I've already typed/sorted a box of bottles with happy results. Now for the other ones...sigh...I think...LATER! lol...
And on that note, I'm going to wrap this up for now. I still have a week's worth of surfing that I pinned but hey, it's Monday and past dinner time. In fact, dinner time has now bled into relax time and it's coming up on bed time in about an hour (and me with no dinner. Yeah, I know, bad. I'm working on it!) OK...off to cook...hmmm...maybe I'll just have a salad...
later!
