Things that really matter

I have a confession.
I can’t do it all.
I wish I could.
The list of things I want and need to do will always much longer than the list of things I actually accomplish.
Some days the list is simple: Shower. Dress. Eat. Survive.
The length of my list depends on how I'm doing.
I am constantly striving to get through it and some times, some days, some weeks, some hours...it's utterly brutal. But at the end of the day I always get at least one one thing done on even the simplest of my lists. And I may accomplish only one thing on this simple list (survive) but in the long run (lol) it's still a win.

And I’m okay with that.

It's taken a long time to be okay with it. And sometimes I forget for a moment or two or so. But I always eventually remember. Even the healthiest of us isn't perfect and no one can do it all.
It is just not humanly possible.

So this is what I tell myself on those hard days and my advice to you all who are fighting similar battles.
Because even the healthiest of us isn't perfect and no one can do it all.
It is just not humanly possible.
So try to relax, do what you can, take a break when you need it, and don’t get so caught up in your to-do list that you forget to take each moment as it comes.
Life is short.
Moments are precious.
Don’t waste time on things that don’t matter.
