Our questions this week from one of our members are good ones! I've faced similar issues when I tried to do shows and it was why I ultimately quit doing them. It was just "too much" on top of everything else.
Below are the questions in their own words:
1. Does anyone know if we are legally allowed to ask for a booth at a show that has the accessibility we might need? I.E. getting in and out between "tables" where some a all jammed together? One time the only way to the bathroom was to walk behind all the other vendor tables! I can only walk a couple hundred feet, and need bathroom frequently. Beyond that, I'm in a wheelchair. Also, one time, the guard REFUSED to let a friend and I unload at the front door, (by the handicapped parking places)--when the building wasn't even open to public!!!! He made us go to "freight doors" where all the other vendors were blocking the area with their vehicles and things went downhill from there.
1a. If we have legal rights in this area, could that also apply to allowing 2 physically challenged artists to "share" a booth? For physical reasons (would also benefit financially, but I"m sure that's never a factor).

Have any of you had to request accommodations in writing? I did when I got a ticket and had to go to court and I'm really glad I did because I ended up having to go to court five different times for that ONE ticket that was caused by a computer glitch at the DOL and not my driving!
