Today isn't one of those days...so far...lmao! I raise my coffee cup to all you hard working folks, here's to a productive Tuesday that doesn't give you a cross-eyed migraine! YEAH!
After yesterday's six hour power outage (during the mid-morning to late afternoon...prime "light" hours at this time of year) I'm going to have to play "catch up".
Yesterday was scheduled roof repair but with no power tools etc that was of course scrapped. The time window for roof repair is inching shut & scheduling has been a bitch from the get go. The weather window of course is a whole different ball of wax. Pretty much if it's not raining too bad, Craig is on the roof trying to fix "shit". Shit = the "repair" job the so-called repair man has done for my landlords. We have sooooooooo many pictures of his so-called fixes. So much wrongness shown in these pics I could make a horror picture book that anyone with rudimentary home repair skills would shudder through almost every page. One of my particular favorites is the dishtowel duct-taped around the water pipe to slow/hold the leak for the 10/15 minutes it took the repair man to reassure the landlord the leak was fixed before he shut off the water again since this was a summer cabin & they only turned the water "on" when they came down. "F_ing asshole" doesn't begin to cover the descriptive terms for this guy that people mutter when they "take a look at the problem" to see if they can help us with just one of this rustic money pit's many issues. If I had a nickel for every head shake (in disbelief) that happens when one is confronted with these deliberate little quick fixes. Well, I'd have new plumbing, a new water heater (the kind that supplies instant hot water), a new roof & the addition would be insulated, completely wired & sheet rocked. Eh...but don't get me started, lol. Pictures will eventually follow, but not right this sec :)
It's a nasty rainy day & raining too violently for any roof work to be done today. Time for indoor repairs & staying dry :) Yesterday I just sat around (trying to stay warm) with a glue stick & a pair of scissors, making gift tags while we still had the natural light. When the power came back on I turned the heat up & went & took a nap. Fibromyalgia sucks but what can you do but roll with the flow? Fighting every little thing just exhausts you more, pick the battles that really mean something to you & roll with the rest.
Today my son has to go to do grout work for his grandmother, it was scheduled for this morning but has now (via her) been pushed to the afternoon. I will probably take another nap when he goes. Just the way it goes :) For now, I've got some crafty stuff to go do before my get-up& go takes a hike without me....
